Bin Tipping System

To minimize handling during loading, a wheelie bin tipping system can be offered. This is a fully automated and synchronized with the ram loading system. The bin tipper can be designed for standard international bins or to suit customers specific requirements.

Automatic Waste Loading System

In conjunction with the waste bin tipping system, an automatic waste loading device designed for the safe and clean loading of: medical, hazardous, pharmaceutical and other waste materials can be offered.

The waste loading system is a hydraulically or pneumatically operated system which is automated and synchronized with the incinerators control system.

Waste can be loaded by bin tipper, conveyer or forklift into the waste handling hopper. The waste is then pushed by a ram through a sequenced incinerator door into the primary chamber. All interlocked, the loading is closely controlled to prevent overloading or use should the secondary chamber temperature fall below the required temperature.

This feature protects the operator and allows the incinerator to be loaded throughout the burning cycle.

Liquid Injection System

RD Models can be fitted with liquid waste injection systems for the safe disposal of aqueous liquids, waste oil, sludge and chemicals.

The Liquid Injection system is operated with compressed air and is fitted with a pre & post purge anti-blocking system.

Flue gas cooling and de-dusting system

For some applications, it may be required that the flue gases are cooled to below 400°C before exiting the chimney. For this, a standard forced draught cooling system can be offered. The system consisting of refractory lined duct having a centrifugal fan mounted and angled to enhance complete mixing of the cooling air and the flue gases. Automatically controlled via the main incinerator control panel.

De-dusting is an additional feature for applications where fly-ash from the waste could be a problem, such as, security waste, paper and packaging. The de-dusting system consists of a large cylindrical refractory lined chamber with a de-ash trap at the base and flue exit at the top. Flue gases enter the chamber, due to large volume, the gas velocity is reduced allowing the heavy fly-ash to drop to the base of the de-dusting Chamber. A re-heat burner can also be provided.

Ceramic Filtration System

Depending upon the legislative requirements regarding flue gas emission levels, it may be necessary to install a flue gas filtration systems. Howden can offer a variety of flue gas filtration system from 'State of the art' dry gas ceramic filtration to wet scrubbing systems and de-dusting units.

Howden flue gas filtration systems comply with the latest EC, UK & US directives for air pollution control.

Howden incinerator systems can be upgraded from the basic BS3316 standard to Full EC Standards if required.

Automatic De-ashing System

This feature is used for the continuous and prolonged incineration of waste. It is designed to minimize downtime and change over from burning to de-ash.

Hydraulically or pneumatically operated, a de-ash ram travels the length of the primary chamber hearth pushing the ash residue through an automatic de-ash door at the opposite end of the main chamber.

The ash residue is pushed into a trolley or a hopper and hot ash conveyer system. There can be an ash damping system to prevent dust, this depends upon the system adopted.
