Thermal Dryers- Sludge & Soil Decontamination System

Description

3Ts offers a range of thermal decontamination systems (The RC range), engineered specifically for the thermal treatment of contaminated soil, oil based drill cuttings, oily sludge, and a variety of other waste materials.

The RC incorporates proven design with state of the art technology to achieve compliance with international emission and landfill standards.

Materials such as drill cuttings once processed through the RC safe and inert and can if required utilise 3Ts concrete block making plant to turn the treated material into a useful product. The RC can also be designed to process a variety of waste materials with different densities and properties.

This process has been proven to reduce Toluene extractable contaminants by a factor of 100 times. In tests, it reduced oil-contaminated soil down to 0.09 % toluene extractable material. It also removes organic contaminates.

Features

  • High volume throughput
  • Continuous 24 hour operation
  • Mobile Process
  • Low Emissions
  • Cost Effective processing rate per tonne
  • User friendly, does not require a process engineer to operate the system
  • Containerised control room

Operation

The System is essentially a rotary kiln with certain design features in the main rotary chamber and dust collection cyclones suited for drill cutting and other high dust laden materials.

Contaminated material is loaded via a bucket type conveyor into the rotary chamber for thermal treatment.

As the materials pass through the chamber it tumbles with the rotating action of the chamber, producing a mixing effect. The material is heated by a large fully automatic burner.

Burners can be Dual fuel fired Oil and Nat gas or waste oil fired as required.

As hydrocarbons/oils and other contaminants heat they reach a flash point and heat is then released, which is then used to preheat incoming material and the main burner modulates down to a fuel saving setting.

The 'cleaned' treated material, solids then progresses into the drop out chamber, the hot gases and dust pass into a second phase combustion system where it is further treated and any pollutants are oxidised. Dust is collected in the two stage cyclone system. Further filtration can be added if standards require.

Treated material then exit the system automatically via a conveyor system and deposited to a convenient location.

Options

  • Flue Gas Filtration System
